OUR ATOMY PROPOLIS TOOTHPASTE PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT
One of the first things that stuck me about the Atomy Toothpaste is the fact that it is a propolis toothpaste. CEO Park Han-Gill mentioned about its special properties in a video and I remember mentally noting that down to do more research on the ingredient. I wanted to find out why he specifically mentioned that and what makes it so special. Honestly, I have never heard of propolis before this. So here is what I found out on propolis:
Propolis is a mixture that is produced by honey bees from tree buds, sap flows and other botanical sources (thus the picture of the honey bee on the product packaging).
Honey bees use propolis as a coating for small gaps when building their hives.
Propolis has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years.
Today, propolis is used in medicine to fight infections, boost the immune system, treat skin injuries and heal the mouth after dental surgery.
Propolis has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-oxidizing and anti-inflammatory effects.
It is also know as ‘bee glue’.
That’s quite a list there for a single ingredient. Suffice to say, I was already interested in trying out the product when I read the research. Then I read the ingredient list, and it turns out the Atomy Toothpaste also has green tea extract listed as one of the main ingredients. That was even better for me since I love green tea (pretty much drink it every day, actual brewed green tea, not the sweetened one).
Other features of the Atomy Toothpaste are pretty sweet as well. The product contains silicon dioxide for the removal of dental plague, prevents tartar deposition, prevents dental cavities and removes bad breath.
I went around looking for other reviews of the product too and found out that some people use the toothpaste for itshealing properties by rubbing the toothpaste on cold sores and finding them healed the following day. Reviews from people with weak gums have also found the healing properties useful.
On a cautionary note, since propolis is a product of bees, people allergic to bees should not use this product.
